Why the difference in the seat bolsters on 78 (PC), 79-82 seats?
NCRS members. Researching some late model C3 trivia.
Why the difference in the seat bolsters on 78 (PC), 79-82 seats. GM-Chevrolet produced the Pace Car style clam shell seats with 2" or 4" side seat bolsters, correct? Why the difference and why was it not an option to select one or the other? If not, how was it determined if a car got the 2" or 4" bolsters? Was it just certain years that had either option? Or was it just different manufacturers. Was it a change in seat design? If so when did the change occur?
Lot's of unanswered questions.
Maybe some of the guys around back in those production years may know. Find it hard to believe it was just a random decision. Thanks. Comments welcomed.
