74 A/C Condenser Question

AIM shows part number 3028820. Condenser is still available from GM (part number 12490542). Are these condensers exactly the same?

I have not scrutinized these two condensers. However, I can tell you that they are VERY similar. Nevertheless, I have no doubt that there are some nuances of difference. As a matter of fact, even if you were to find an NOS GM #3028820 there's no guarantee that there would not be some difference from the same part number originally installed on the car.

The original 3028820 was manufactured by the Harrison Division of GM. Although that operation actually still exists, I kind of doubt that the current GM #12490542 is manufactured by that entity.
