Rich, Nice pic.s of the original fasteners as I can tell you the repro fasteners the washer hits the stainless trim when installed. I am pretty sure the lic. plate screws were always a silver zinc on GM cars back then. I would keep the screws and see if you can run across some there are some older hardware companies still around. if you find something I would like to know Thanks Ed.

      Richard,

This is a pic of an original and some that I have in stock.

Most people with 63's don't accept these as originals but this screw came off my 63 many years ago.

      Your call?????

The same on my Mar64 car as your original, sort of a flat head as opposed to curved, and
yes captive washer (just not bright any more)

Wow, Joe' yours look perfect. I was wondering about the plating, I wasn't even sure they were plated before now. Looks like Zinc or cad for sure.
I may have mine re-plated just for giggles.

After looking through other sources I found what appears to be a more accurate screw reproduction on EBay.

These are sold by Corvette Central.

I hate to make an assumption but are they the same bolts used on both the front and back plates?

And in the glovebox an not attached to the car.

Does this mean as delivered or on the showroom floor?

Always thought judging was "as on the showroom floor".

                Interesting question???
