National Convention - Flight Judging & Seminars - How to Plan?

Question regarding how to plan my time at the National Convention in Las Vegas. I have a 1968 entered for Flight Judging and I see from the schedule that it says judging takes place on both Wednesday and Thursday. I would also like to attend the advanced judging seminar on the same days, but the schedule says that zero judging points will be awarded if not attending both morning and afternoon sessions. Obviously, I know that I must be with my car for the entire judging process.

So my question is this: Once on site, will there be someone that gives me a schedule or an "appointment" for when my car is going to be judged? I know that having my car judged if #1 priority, but would like to be able to attend as many seminars as possible also.

Thanks for helping out the new guy!

(also, if this is not the correct forum to post this, please move)

Brad - believe your car will be judged on Wednesday and then you can do Advanced judging morning / afternoon on Thursday. If your car is judged on Thursday, then you can do the Advanced judging on Wednesday

Brad, the judging schedule has already been set. It's been know to change but that is rare. I suggest your contact the contact person on you registration for the schedule for your car.

On the AJS you must attend both the morning and the afternoon sessions. On rare occasions the school coordinator will allow you to attend the morning session on one day and the afternoon session the next day. You must see him at the convention for the approval. As I recall all schools have an attendee limit. Have you already registered for the schools you want?

Ok, it sounds like I will know better on site which day I will be judged. In my ignorance, I signed up for both weds & thurs judging seminars when I sent in my application - not realizing that Flight judging was going to be going on at the same time. I hope that does not cause too much of an issue for the head count of each seminar.

        Thanks for the help,

          Brad,
I am the coordinator for the Advanced Judging Seminars (AJS) and had I seen your post earlier I would have suggested you sign up for both days of the AJS when registering. Many judges do the same because at the time of registration they don't know which day(s), if any, they will be selected to judge. Signing up for both days and then not attending is not an issue. We have become used to that.

Good luck with your 1968 in Las Vegas.
          Terry

Thanks for that information Terry. I know that if 50 people sign up for both days like I did, it could throw your count way off. I feel better knowing that it is somewhat expected by the seminar planners that is how people will do it.

One other question: Are the weds & thurs Advanced Judging Seminars that you lead the same information both days? Or will different material be covered each day?

            Thank you,

Really looking forward to that Advanced Judging Seminar Terry, and the one in Scottsdale this week too.

I may put you to work in Scottsdale Mike. We will see what each day presents.

Each seminar is different, both day to day and meet to meet. There is no agenda nor curriculum. Each event is driven by the car(s) available and the participants in the class.
