65 body rivets for metal supports to bolt the rear valance

Are the metal supports riveted with the large round rivets? I have some riveted with pop rivets and was wondering if they were correct?

Both my 65's, 1 A.O.Smith and 1 St. Louis, have have solid rivets in all positions. No pop rivets.
The spider in the tail light hole made me laugh. My 65 coupe came from Pasadena, Ca. and had a live Black Widow living in the drivers side trailing arm. Scared the crap out of me when I found it.

The ones on my A.O. Smith car are about 1/2". The ones on my St. Louis car are 3/8".
