1957 Heater delete pipe plug at water pump

Did the pipe plug take a 1/2" or 9/16" wrench . Were they painted engine color.

dan: our air box has a plumber's pipe plug that takes a 9/16" open end wrench. it has no paint on it and appears to be silver cad plated. Dick Robinson did the restoration on this air box twice, in mid 80's for frank buck then again in about 2000 for irwin Kroiz. as u know, dick was the MOST knowledgable 579D optioned 57 on earth. PS: when u mount the heater block off plate, have the clutch head screws facing the engine compartment and the nuts between the firewall and cardboard dash insulation. mike

Nothing special about those plugs and one can expect to see variations of them. Dick and I talked about this. John
