    Judging Event

    Hello Everybody,

Yesterday, the Metro LI chapter held our spring judging event. We were fortunate to have the National Judging Chairman, Dave Brigham, attend for a special event.

While more on this event will be posted soon by our Region 1 Director, Mark Tulley, enjoy these two photos for now.

    Regards,

    Dennis

It's fortunate this one-of-a-kind survivor didn't fall into a sinkhole.

Looking forward to the upcoming 1983 JG.

          Re: Judging Event

The car in the picture Dennis posted is the first C4 to be judged in the New NCRS Concours Division
The car was awarded a 427 Ribbon by Dave Brigham in the Modified class
The car was created for a upcoming TV special and is scheduled to be displayed and judged at the National Convention in Las Vegas
There are very many unique custom features starting with the split window.
More information on the TV special and additional photos will be posted in the near future

Great to see Concours Judging at the chapter level, let's hope that is allowed in other chapters soon.

It was a very well done car with great lines. Be sure to check it out in Las Vegas.

Glad to see Concours Class is still alive. Any word on if/when judging sheets will be released. Would like to show at regional in October and sheets would help in making corrections.

Kathryn Adie can be of some help Carl. She has judged in the Concours class. I understand "OPS" is a part of it. Send a note to DAN ADIE to reach her.

My understanding is the sheets are very similar to regular judging sheets BUT the originality column is removed. Don H.

It would also be nice for the judging chairs to have a set presentation and materials to inform chapter members about this new class, so we are consistent in our information to interested members around the NCRS world. A special tech session needs to be offered by the chapters.

                        Michael,
Other then being "nice", disseminating information is essential to the potential participants me possibly being one of them.
If we don't know what is being judged , there is no way to prepare.
As an example is my car ( 1957 Corvette Gasser) has no wipers or windshield washer, will that put me out of the running?
In addition what is awarded if you qualify?

True Bruce, I should have been more direct. BTW, the Texas Chapter judged a Concours car yesterday, so somewhere some chapters are getting information and materials for this.

                            Re: Judging Event

Bruce your car will do very well. If a car does not have a line item component like your wipers and washers and that is the intention of the builder, then full credit applies. Just like FI or A/C receive full credit on flight judged cars that do not have those options. Another example are electric fuel pumps which are contained in the tank. The judge cannot see the pump which is a line item to asses but common sense dictates that there is one as the car runs therefore that item receives full credit. It is not treated as an item that is missing because it doesn't conform to original configuration like a flight judged car that would receive a deduction for in the originality column and the condition column.

With the exception of the operation section, the car is basically assessed on appearance.

There was a gorgeous black '62 at Lakeland this year with a huffer sticking up thru the hood.

As Danny points out almost anything goes. Done in a finished manor, deleted or added makes no difference. According to Dave it needs a Corvette vin and could even be a state issued one at that. This class has drawn in some neat looking cars. Anything goes race cars, restomods, customs, drag car, even just plain stock street Corvettes with after market parts or added bling having added or deleted options.

This is now a perfect class for cars with Vintage Air added or any option want to add (or remove) to ones Corvette.
