Re: Holleys 4160 fuel bowl leaking
I placed a small amount of epoxy on the plug edge groove where it is leaking. It stopped the leak. I recently had my car judged at the Greenville Regional and lost a point; no big deal......if you are worried about that.- Top

Re: Holleys 4160 fuel bowl leaking
The guy who restored/ rebuilt my carb used epoxy on this area and it worked well for the last eight years. But it started to leak and the epoxy came off. I got the area clean, dried and put some J B Weld epoxy on it. I really hope I don’t have to remove the bowl and create other areas to possible leak.- Top

Re: Holleys 4160 fuel bowl leaking
I still have a slight leak even after new epoxy. is there a way to replace the welsh plug with something better that wont leak? is there enough material to have it drilled and taped for a NPT plug?- Top

Re: Holleys 4160 fuel bowl leaking
Some Holley 4160 carbs having the same basic fuel bowl casting use a brass fitting fuel inlet which is tapped into the boss to which you are referring. So, it is possible to drill and tap as you suggest. However, I do not know the thread size or if there is an NPT thread size that will work. However, there is certainly some thread size that will work.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
