    Dyslexic C5 Sport Seat

We purchased a '98 pace car back in October and had it judged at the FL regional. My wife has decided not to go for a Hill award at this time so it's time to start preserving the high wear parts. We purchased a pair of sport seats from a 2002 and installed new foam and seat covers. The sport seats came with everything except the main control model in the driver's seat.

We took the module out of the original driver's seat and installed it into the replacement seat. The driver's side seat control trim bezel that came with the replacement seat was in bad shape and the switch panel had been glued into the bezel because the securing tabs had been broken off. We were having trouble installing this switch and bezel so I decided to used the switch and bezel from the Z4Z's original driver's seat. That resulted in the following combination of parts:

    - Seat adjusters (tracks) and wiring harnesses from a 2002
    - Seat relay module on passenger side that came with the seat adjuster (2002)
    - Main seat control module harvested from the original 1998 driver's seat
    - Seat control switch harvested from the original 1998 driver's seat
    - No other changes to electronics in car

Now the problem: The passenger side seat works perfectly. The seat adjuster moves in all directions in coordination with the large rectangular switch: up moves up, down moves down, forward moves forward and back moves back through its full range of motion. The seat bolsters inflate and deflate as expected. However, the driver's seat is all confused. It moves forward as expected but pushing the switch rearward lowers the back of the seat, pushing the rearward side of the switch down will cause the seat to move back, pushing the forward side of the switch down will raise the back of the seat.

The seat can eventually be adjusted to any position within the full range of its motion but it takes some experimentation with the crazy switch. The bolsters work as expected. Since the part number for the driver and passenger seat switches are identical, I'm thinking this must be an installation problem. Either I did something wrong or missed a step; like setting something in the PCM through the DIC. I was going to start digging into the service manual but was hoping someone could get me pointed in the right direction.

    Thanx
