I have a 1966 Convertible. The pin on the front top latch fully engages on the passenger side. The pin when latched only goes in about half way on the driver side. The top and latches are tight on both sides. The top also appears straight while looking at it along the front windshield chrome. Is there any adjustment to make the latch (pin) on the drivers side to be fully inserted? Do I need a new latch? Is it the rubber seal keeping it from fully engaging? Is this common? I can't find anything in the Assembly Manual.

Re: C2 Convertible Front latch
It is adjusted up with no success. I noticed when unlatched on both sides the top has about a 1/4 inch gap on the driver side. Perhaps the whole top needs adjusted? Or, the inside chrome at the windshield driver side needs to come up?????- Top

Re: C2 Convertible Front latch
Latch the front of your convertible top first then latch the back part of your top last. If you have new weather striping this could interfere with latching.

Re: C2 Convertible Front latch
Tried it with no success. When unlatching the rear, the passenger side pin will be engaged without the latch. The driver side pin does not come near the the lower latching point without it being latched and a gap is noticeable between the top and chrome.. Also, with the rear unlatched the top seems to be on a twist to the right front. Can't understand why it will latch and the pin only goes in half way..- Top
