    '57 Windshield Wiper Motor

Our windshield wiper motor won't turn off. Any ideas why?

    Hi Sal
I would think you should first check your cable or cables that control the wipers.
If they are not operating smoothly that is your problem.
They may just need some lube.
Carefully disconnect the cables at the motor.
Take a picture of how the cables attach to the slide to be sure you can reconnect the same way.
Check the slide to see if you can shut the motor off.
Try to operate the cable or cables while disconnected at the motor to be sure they move.
Is this a problem that just started or are you a new owner of the car.
As long as the motor is working this should be a simple fix.
One cable if you do not have windshield washer option. Two cables if you have the washer option.

Agree with Dave. My '57 wipers kept running due to a stuck slide. A very small amount of lube and shut off no problem. Steve
