Original AC label damaged 71 coupe

I had my AC charged at a local shop and they damaged my original AC label. I am sick with this event but I straighten out the foil and it is the best I can do to repair the label. I would like to keep the label in at lease this condition for judging as "original". My question is can I apply a clear plastic label over the original to keep it in tact, as the foil when I straitened it out has no adhesive. Should I just leave it alone with damage but is in original state? The reproductions are not close to my original and they are missing the date code. Can I get a reproduction that will receive full points in judging including the date code. Thanks in advance for the info, John

John, you might try using a spray adhesive. I would mask off the areas where the adhesive is not needed, though.
