C1 Jacking instruction label

IIRC, there was a fairly recent thread on C1 spare tire boards, jacking instructions and positraction labels. In that thread someone posted some detailed info regarding the sizes of the jacking instruction label. Interested specifically in 1957 label. Judging Guide doesn't agree with Paragon's size for their "correct" label or my measurements taken from remnants of adhesive pattern on my original board.

Search of the archives has netted me nothing. Can someone please point me to the thread? Thanks in advance for any help.

FWIW, the measurement of the label in the 56-7 JM was taken from several original spare tire boards.

One of which, I still have in my possession.

His are from a 59. The 56-57 are likely a different size, as I believe 61-2 are also.

Gary, thanks for the confirmation.

David, thank you. Very valuable photos including the overall pic showing orientation of the label as attached to the board, not aligned horizontally. Mine was clocked about 25-30* CCW from horizontal.

Patrick, that confirms what I recall about the earlier thread I'm searching for. Maybe it was you who posted multiple sizes over the years. right now, I've gotten three different sizes from two vendors for their labels, two from Paragon, one from CC, and they all vary but just up to a 1/4 inch. All are smaller than the 6 X 9 for the original as mentioned by Gary and shown in David's photos.

Think I'll inquire of a couple more vendors to see if anyone repro's the correct size since it appears there may be more than one source.

For the 56-7 JM we used great examples such as Dave Smith's Bowtie '57 and the blue prints for the Jacking and Positraction label dimensions.

Great team of NCRS members made the 6th edition possible. Unfortunately, we've lost two recently.
