Correct Engine # and car Vin #

Hi all, this is a first post and a question you get ad nausium but here it is
I have just purchased a 65 roadster with several nice options.
it has auto w/a/c leather telescope wheel ,teak wheel PS/PB/PW vin # is 194675s106342 engine # S1 06342 FI 217 HR . My question is, is the the correct motor for the car.

From a pure numbers standpoint it appears to be. The car build date is about 1/8/65. The engine build date is 12/17 hopefully 64.
The HR represents 300hp Automatic with A/C. Post the trim tag and have the folks take a look. I'm assuming the engine is not a re stamp. Why not post the dates and numbers off the block as well as a picture of the engine pad.

Well certainly the VIN# matches your car (S is really probably 5), and the "HR" suffix is a Corvette 327 CI, 300 HP, power glide, air conditioning equipped Flint engine stamp. The engine assembly date is Dec. 12, 1964, and that would seem to be OK for the VIN# sequence of 6342.
