I am trying to adjust the convertible top frame before a new top is installed. I left the 4 mounting bolts where there were as it appears that is where the factory installed the frame. Once the frame is adjusted I plan to mark where it is attached, remove and paint.
The frame attaches front and rear pretty well and lines up nicely other than this issue.
What I can not figure out is why the rear bow has the same gap on either side without the weatherstrip yet is up tight against the deck lid in the middle of the rear bow. I can adjust the rear pins to obtain a gap in the middle of the bow up against the deck lid but the pins are almost completely out of their housing. The result is a large gap on either side where the weatherstrip will not seal up on the sides in addition to the pins being adjusted almost completely out of their housing(s)
See pictures below of the rear bow gaps. Thoughts and ideas are encouraged. I could really use some help. Does someone have pictures from the rear and sides showing how close the top fits the body with the weatherstrips?

Thank you,
Bill
