    All,

A google search of GM4435M turned up some interesting details. It's Code A that applies in this case. I believe GM4435M has been superseded, so probably no longer used by GM.

      Gary,

Thanks for the AMK Products lead. I wasn't familiar with them How did you cross the GM part numbers to an AMK item. I didn't see a way to do it on their web site. Do you have to call them? How about Dr. Rebuild?

        Jack,

Open the link below and on the left hand side is a box called "PDF catalog", click that button and at the very bottom of the list is the glossary for OEM part numbers.

          Jack,

Just do a google search to see if AMK has a GM part, e.g., google AMK Products 9418931. That will get you to an AMK PDF or webpage with the part.

Regarding Dr. Rebuild, I think he only sells a 9418931 nut in silver zinc, which apparently is not the correct finish.

With regards any nut, bolt, washer etc. used on any GM car if it has an assigned part number (as a rule they all do) the complete description in most cases can be readily described and yes there is a large volume of Engineering specs for all GM fasteners. To ask for the part # (per Gary) is by far the most important question. Based on some of the threads I have read I think there is a lot of misconceptions about nuts, bolts & washers etc.. GM has specific ground rules and specifications for all applications on their cars and trucks. With regards to zinc, cad phosphate etc. there are a multitude of different specifications for each. Knowing where they will be installed will determine the specification. For anyone looking for specs. on a particular fastener it is super important as Gary suggested do your research and provide a part number.
