1963 Stingray Convertible with a Cool History!

    Hey folks,
I hope you're all keeping well. I bought my C2 back in August and have been getting her ready for the spring. When I purchased the car here in Ontario, Canada, I was advised by the seller that the car spent from 1963 - 1988 in Paris, France. I found the information super cool, but other than an old sticker on the air cleaner from a service centre in Cannes, France, I can't seem to find much!

Here are some details about the car:
    1963 Corvette Stingray Convertible
327 cu V8 (not fuel injected)
    3 speed
    VIN #: 30867S118798
    Exterior: Daytona Blue
    Interior: Dark Blue
Features: the car came with a matching hardtop which is still on it and a black soft top
The car does NOT have power windows or AC
The car still retains all the factory items
The car had the factory wheel covers

The car seems to have had three owners. The first owner exported the car to France (allegedly). The car remained in France until roughly 1988. It was then purchased by a dentist in New York while in Paris and shipped (along with a Citreon) to Newark, New Jersey. Due to a deficiency in the restoration document, he was unable to register the car in NY and eventually sold the car to a fellow in Toronto. I was able to get in touch with this fellow and he gave me the background that he was able to recall.

I've ordered the dealer information sheet and am waiting for it to arrive. Does anyone have any pointers which would assist me in digging up some history on this car?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Rick

could you post an image of the clutch and brake pedal. Curious if the 3 speed received a different shape clutch pedal. Pre 63 style oval clutch pedal shape or 4 sided angular style as seen on 63 4 speeds. Recall seeing an early 63 with a 3 speed clutch pedal the same shape as a 62 or earlier vette clutch pedal.

Hey Joe, I will snap a photo next time I'm with the car. I'm pretty certain it's a 4 sided angular pedal, however I will confirm this Friday!

            Cheers

Hey Scott, I didn't realize that the swap meet at the GM dealership was affiliated with the Corvette Club. I've been getting parts from Santo down at Caledon Corvettes. Thanks for reaching out. I'll definitely be calling you.
