    1963 reproduction Rocker Panels

    My reproduction Rockers arrived today. They look good, but others had mentioned differences in the overall length is sometimes an issue.

    I put them next to the NOS I installed on the SWC back in the 80's and took a couple pictures. It appears the overall length is within an 3/16" of each other. The reproductions being slightly longer. Pictures attached;

    Rockers were source from Keenparts.

    Richard , With them being longer do you think they will fit past the front or rear part of the lower fender?

      rich: I wouldn't use 1980's over the counter chevy rocker panels as a template. I recall buying them in the 70's and
      d comparing to originals. the NORS pieces differed considerably on their ends from factory originals ( on the ends) from the crimping process. mike

        I thought they were OTC parts. I just found paint remnants on the panels that date them as possible 1963 originals.
        They have funny crimps at the ends and one side is worse than the other.
        Any additional information on how to prove the date of manufacture?
        After 40 years I cant remember all the details. I lost the pictures I took when I first purchased the car.

        The extra 3/16 of an inch is in all likely hood indiscernible by looking at the Corvette. Prior poster had mentioned a much larger length difference.

        I was thrilled how they appeared and the comparison to the ones I had on the SWC. Only the lack of the crip defect sets them apart from the OEM supplied ones.
        Some vendors had a disclaimer on the rockers they sell. "Imported rocker moldings do not reflect the high quality *** parts maintain."
        "Therefore, parts do carry a restock charge". The company I purchased these from had no such disclaimer. I do not know where the rockers I purchased were manufactured. Could be the same supplier for all I know. How many can there be?
