    1966 427 passenger inner fender

Should there be any holes in the inner passenger side fender of a 1966 427? If so, where would they be located? I know a 427 would not have an expansion tank. Would there be holes for a heater hose bracket of some type or anything else?

    Joe,

Not sure if you tried the Search function. It searches all threads for keywords. I just searched 1966 skirt and came up with a few that may help.

Also at the bottom of your Thread, it will automatically find "Similar" threads.

Thanks Richard. I have looked at several pictures and many of them seem to be different. I have two holes where the heater hose clamp goes. and two holes 8 1/2 inches towards the front of the fender. One is 4 inches above the other. That's it.

        Joe,

There is definitely inconsistency in understanding the holes in these passenger side skirts. The Big Block had some skirt hole "uniqueness". When you say "8 1/2", do you mean 8 1/2" apart? If you can post some photos of your inner skirt it could help.

Allegedly the holes were drilled at assembly for the BB heater hose clamps. It is also understood by me that he 2 small horizontally placed holes for the SB wire harness push-pin ties were drilled out by the supplier of the panels so all cars had those holes. In the past I believe there was confusion about these as I was told no holes but should be dimples. Strangely, when you look at pictures of other skirts these holes are not always in identical positions either.

According to prior research the 4 holes for the SB expansion tank were also drilled at the supplier. For the BB cars, filler was pushed in from the backside when the loose skirt was upside down leaving nubs of filler in the holes inside the engine bay.

I have the two holes for the heater hose clamp. 8 1/2 inches towards the front of the car, in line (horizontal) with the top heater hose clamp hole is another hole. 4 inches above it is another hole. That's it for holes.

              Joe,

I think that lower center hole was originally a dimple and someone drilled it. Not sure about the upper hole.
