    Directional Problems, My Bad

I reinstalled the cluster in my 63. After connecting all the wires and plugging in the directional switch I powered up the car.

Everything worked except the LH directional. after fighting this for hours it was a simple fix, I inadvertently dislodged the flasher about 1/8 inch. I pushed in back in and all is fine.

Just thought I'd pass this along to help save you some time.

Harry, The strange thing is that the flasher controls both sides. Your Right side was working before you reseated the flasher, so I'm not sure if the flasher was the real culprit. I wonder if something else moved when you got under the dash.

I hope you're all set but I sense a ghost somewhere.

I have a 1966. The emergency flashers work on the passenger front and both rear. The driver side front will not flash. The turn signals and parking lights work fine all around. Need help with this one.

Check the light bulbs, there are two filaments in the bulb one might be bad.

Yes, but the right side was extremely slow, normal speed now.

Interesting. I've seen different flashers flash the lights at different rates. This likely due to varying internal bimetal strips.
If the bulbs have different filament resistances I suppose this would make the flasher work differently. I suppose now also because of a bad flasher connection. Strange problems lately in the electrical arena.

You got it solved so this is good.

I'm gonna have to support Harry on this one, I had a similar experience and equally tough time finding the flasher issue..
Not sure I have a good explanation either...

I had this problem on my 66. It was the driver side front that did not work also. Two things resolved the problem. 1. Took the flasher assembly apart and one of the copper contacts was black (bottom one). Cleaned it with light sand paper. 2. installed a new flasher. Purchased it at NAPA. They work fine now.
