We can't they make reproduction labels like the originals

I just bought a new cooling system instruction label for my L78. The original had very faded green printing. The reproduction has black printing. I checked the JG and it says green printing! Checked all the reproductions at the usual vendors. All black printing.

Is green ink rare in the USA.

    Gary,

I understand how this can be frustrating from down under. I heard the US Mint is impacting the available supply of green ink due to increased demand for the dollar.

    Have you tried China?

Simply get it onto a high quality photocopy machine with the correct shade of green selected and apply with a thin smear of silicone caulking. You're done !

Ignorance, the people doing the art work are not in the hobby, they don't understand the importance of accuracy. It's either the wrong font, color, size, kerning etc.
Good advise from Dave prepare a good copy and use it.

That's strange, the right side inner fender coolant decal on the '65 396 I restored has the green printing on the white background. Can't remember where I bought the decals from, but they have to be out there.

Well, if they make it wrong, corvette people still buy it. Next they make it with SOME improvements and corvette people buy it again. They make some MORE improvementS, and corvette people buy it again. See how this works instead of sell it once to each corvette guy they sell it three or four times. More profit margin........... KEEPS THEM IN BUSINESS.

When I sold parts, we purchased the decals from several vendors and they all had the green

I know, I'll make them in Australia and market them in the US. They will be expensive, as the US pulled out of the free trade agreement with Australia! The black printed ones are $US4, so I wonder how much money I'll make...............

                  Gary,

Did you try the good doctor Jeff at Doc Rebuild? I can't believe he would sell something that is not correct. The label in his catalog is p/n 8999412. Another avenue may be to contact Richard Fortier who used to own Paragon Reproductions. He might have a correct one stashed away.

                  Regards,

                  James

I have checked Paragon and theirs is black printing. I can use the one I have to make a green one on the photocopier.

I have had decals made with no problems on colors. It's no big deal to have them made except for one thing. Be prepared to go in business as every time I have a decal made the minimum order is 1000!!!

And then, you can't sell enough of them to break even.

I recently purchased one from LICS #02-08c. It has green print.

Tell me about it. I had several hundred of the very hard to find correct decals made for early C-3's. Had to pay a die fee to cut the decals, printing, etc. Used the GM blueprint for size, font, color, etc. Still sitting on several hundred.
