Current Delco Replacement Battery for 1975

Starting this thread for a new member of Mason Dixon - he just bought a 1975 and trying to minimize point deduction for battery. Both known reproduction battery shops are kaput. So, what is/was the OEM battery in the day - R89W????

And, if so know the current Delco should receive a 50% deduction if I remember the standard deduction for replacement battery. Just want to verify battery series for a 1975.

1975 - black battery, R89ST; heavy duty = R89WPT.
There is a description on page 23 of the current JG, circa 2000. I have no idea if we will change any of this in the next couple of years as we revise.

Points per dollar? Current Delco.
You could always have fun by putting an R89 Battery Topper with the correct Corvette caps on it.

The current battery is a Delco group 78.
