    95 LT1 Coupe - Ignition Key Stamp D or H

Hi, I just check both of my 95 ignition keys and do not see any stamp on the metal key side indicating either D or H keyway. Manual says it should be there. The are no close up photos in the manual. If anyone could help I would appreciate it.

    Chris,

Believe only lock keyways have "D" or "H". Ignition keys have "VATS" pellet.

Any idea how to retrieve the original key code from a 1995. GM does not provide the code to cars prior to 2002 currently.

          Chris,
My 1990 C-4 has the" D" on the door, glove box key. The Ing key (w/pellet) has no stamping. However if you have the knock-out for your Ign. key
there is a stamping on the knock-out that indicates a code for the pellet. Many times the dealer knocked it out My code for the pellet knock-out is 7310. Hope this helps.

Thanks! I do not have the original knock out

I agree with Dave. My '95 LT1 coupe has the "H" stamped on the two lock keys and the ignition keys are not stamped but have the pellet.

                Ditto for my 96.

The number represents the resistance value of the pellet. Do ya'allz born-with ignition keys have a number on them? Or was I looking at key-shop pellet keys?
Dave, my born-with "pellet keys" do not have numbers on them as you describe.

                    Dave,

Son’s 1996 does not have 2-digit number on pellet key.
