Need Help With Mess Under Dash

I've got some extra holes and a notch under the lip of my 67 dash and I believe that the trip odometer reset cable/knob is installed in the wrong place. In the first attached photo, note the approximately 3/8" diameter hole in the bracket to the right of the hood release. (just to the left of the black phosphate bolt with the natural colored washer) Does the trip odometer cable go there? What about the notch that is cut out of the lip of the dash just to the rear of that hole - is that factory? In photo 2 you will see the trip odometer cable is installed in a hole to the right side of the steering column. Thank you.

    Rick,
See attached pics. Mine is a factory A/C car so my headlight rollover switch is mounted inboard (in that notch that you mentioned, from where yours is located. However, note where the odometer reset knob is located. The two holes on the right of the steering column...I have no idea what they're for. Possibly, for the mounting of the air vent knob on earlier year C2...I seem to recall that the right hand side vent knob may have been located there or the switch for the rear fan on the '65. Hope this helps.

Leif, thanks very much for posting those pictures! Your headlight switch is located where the notch is on my car. My headlight switch ( no A/C) is further to the left than yours, in another notch, where your A/C duct is. I would surmise that the notch on my car is therefore factory. Looks like I should move the odometer reset to the hole where yours is located. I think you're right about the two small holes being for the vent cable on earlier C2's. Thanks again.

This is from my '67 coupe, non-AC. Column is out at the moment.

Hey Steve, the switch for opening your headlights is installed incorrectly. The "ears" go behind the dash panel.

Steve, great picture. The notch I was referring to and the location of the trip odometer cable are easy to see. Ditto on the headlight switch. Thanks for posting!

              Rick,

As Jim mentioned, the headlamp opening switch ears should be above the dash panel. I'll get it moved before I put the column back in.
