A winter project of a top rehab inspires this question. After stripping the top in question it is a dark grey material and seems to have no "hair" visible, so just wondering if this is normal or just used after a certain time. The top was not the best but plenty good for a core to rebuild, but would be kindly categorized as rough. The rear window has a date stamp but is unreadable, even with it out. The window is cracked, broken and glazed so a new one was in order and will be dated to be correct for the car. I wondered if anyone on this board could identify the top by the dark gray material or by the original color which was a very dark metallic green. It is not an early top with the notches behind the door but other than that I have not a clue. Thanks in advance for any comments or sharing information or features that may narrow the date of manufacture of the top.

Re: Material used on conv. hardtop?
The 2 C2 dark greens were Glen in 65 and Goodwood in 67. The fiberglass was light gray in 65 and dark gray in 67 but the colors could vary. Sounds like you may have a 67 top.- Top
