Re: 66 Convertible Interior Paint
Im in the process of restoring my steering column and it seems the SEM trim paint is a good match for the dash and console but it seems a bit flat for the steering column. I have not painted the column yet but i have been considering krylon semi gloss black.- Top

Re: 66 Convertible Interior Paint
Erv,
I had to touch up my speaker grille and steering wheel hub. The SEM's was a good match for the grille but not for the hub.
I used Seymour semi gloss black "LACQUER" for the hub. As they say, your results may vary.
Kind Regards- Top

Re: 66 Convertible Interior Paint
When Temperature and Humidity is King any paint can be different from day to day. Since MOST of the parts and painting were from different vendors trying to match the factory will be futile.
Pick either the SEM, Blitz black or Krylon 1613 Industrial and stick with the plan. For any other colors than semi black you are in trouble.

I have had good results on interior paint from PPG. I find a piece that has not been exposed to sunlight and take it to my local jobber and have it scanned. Tell them what gloss I was and they mix it for me in single stage. I have been able to spot repair the center dash on a C 2 using their paint and my airbrush.Last edited by Dick W.; January 11, 2018, 04:00 PM.- Top
