What year is a 3830303 casting # cover?

Jeff, if you still have the 63 it will work just fine. The vent tube on a 63 is metal not plastic.

63 covers also use a machine thread fill plug with a larger square , not the common 3/4NPT threaded plug used on the 65-79's

303 covers I've seen are in 63,64 and very early 65. I have an early 65 here with it's original 303 cover but the plug has the 65 change to course threads, red plastic posi tag and plastic vent as seen in the 375 covers.

The car is a 1963, the rear end casting is 1965, I guess the cover is a 63-65.
