This is the Silvertown spare tire for my '61 with what I presume is a factory label. For judging should I leave this as is or remove it?

Re: 1961 spare tire - should it have a label?
It has a DOT label on the backside so it's not an "ORIGINAL" tire but it's much older than the brand new 6.70x15 that I recently got. I'll leave it on. I don't remember if spare tires back in the 60's had the labels on them.
I'm hunting for every deduct I can eliminate.- Top

Labels = post factory item, assuming you mean one of those labels stuck on the tread of the tire. They come that way from your local tire dealer, not from the factory. Leaving it on screams "I'm not from St. Louis!"It has a DOT label on the backside so it's not an "ORIGINAL" tire but it's much older than the brand new 6.70x15 that I recently got. I'll leave it on. Then you need to eliminate the sticker and evidence that there was a sticker. It has a DOT label on the backside so it's not an "ORIGINAL" tire but it's much older than the brand new 6.70x15 that I recently got. I'll leave it on. I don't remember if spare tires back in the 60's had the labels on them.
