    C2 turn signal problem

On my 67, when signaling for a right turn, the right front turn signal light does not light up. The dashboard turn signal indicator and the right rear signal light turn on but do not blink. All other lights work as required. The right front signal light flashes when the hazard warning switch is pulled out.

Is the turn signal switch the problem?

    Thank you,

    Randy

More than likely...... You've already proven out the wiring, bulb, flasher etc. The only component left in doubt is the switch assembly in the steering column.

I had a similar problem on a 67. Pulled the string on an NOS switch. Still had the problem.
I then purchased a new switch from Long Island and everything worked as it was supposed to. Long Island has the turn signal switches made for them.

Shee-Mar makes these..... Google them for a possible better cost.

I had a problem in my '67 where the brake lights would not come on, and If I recollect correctly, the left turn did not work but the right did. Lights all came on with the light switch. I purchased a turn signal switch from Shee-Mar, Inc. in June. Problems solved. The switch is manufactured by Shee-Mar, Inc. and is an OE Pro part made the the USA. I believe they are supplying the switches to other retailers, but the prices are all around $100. Shee-Mar retails it for $85.22. However, I found the same part at Rock Auto for $68.79. Pretty sure that Rock Auto is retailing the switch from Shee-Mar. The Part number is SM 226 from both, and fits 68-67 Pontiac/Oldsmobile, 68-67 Chevrolet Corvette, and the 69-68 Corvair.

As an additional note, the switch I got from Shee-Mar in June developed a problem with left turn canceling. I called them and explained what happened and they sent me a new part, no charge.

Shee Mar as a great Colorado Company located in Longmont and I cannot say enough nice things about them. I have had very good results from using their products and nice people to deal with also.
            It's a good life!

That was my experience with them when I dealt with them directly. Very personable company. Sometimes unanticipated benefits outweigh differences in cost among parts sources.

Yeah, but you had to do the PITA work all over again, I guess. Did it without removing column? Or not? How? Tricks?

Part failure could happened with any supplied part. I don't necessarily look at maintaining my corvette as a nuisance. I enjoy working on the car and have the time to do it. If it's out of commission for a bit, it's not a big problem. I would look at having to replace an ABS wheel speed sensor on a 2001 Dodge Caravan however, as a PITA (although easy, it's still a PITA to have to). I don't know of any tricks to replacing the turn signal switch without removing the column. After you have done it once, it doesn't seem to take much time at all. It's a lot less involved that say, replacing a throw-out bearing.
