Correct 70 Convertible Deck Lid Weatherstrip

The 70 deck lid ws should not have the molded ends that all the parts houses carry.

Any suggestions on where to find a correct weatherstrip without the molded ends?

Is the C2 deck lid weatherstrip the same as C3 other than length?

    Thanks,

    Bill

The C3 deck lid weatherstrip, GM #3912948, was never available in SERVICE. Instead, the C2 PRODUCTION weatherstrip, GM #3826967, was used to SERVICE all 1963-75 Corvette convertible applications. For C3 applications all that needed to be done was shorten it as required. The 3912948 was simply a 3826967 which had been "pre-shortened" for production-line convenience.

If anyone has the correctly configured weatherstrip, it will be Dr. Rebuild. If he does not have it, I would say the only source would be NOS GM #3826967.

Thank you Joe. I had read about the part numbers in a previous response you provided to a thread.

Based on the pictures of C3 deck lid weatherstrip I take the shortening to mean cutting off the molded ends.

      Does that sound about right?

      Kind Regards,

      Bil

Yes, I do not recall just how much the 3826967 has to be shortened but at least the molded ends go. I suppose the reproductions just mimic the 3826967 and require the same modification.
