1964 Corvette alternator fan color

I have early 64 built roadster (10/31/63) no a/c. It has alternator #1100628, 37 amp, early basic unit (unverified) per judging guide list of 1964 alternator options.

It was built 3D9 (Apr 9, 63) I believe, the fan and pulley are cadium or zinc plated and the fan is not painted black. Can you folks provide a perspective. Thanks Tom

Tom, I believe you have it correct Zinc or Cad. for fan and pulley on 64's. at some point the high horse engine fan started to be black 65?? The date you have is just over the 6 month rule If I am counting right.

Tom, I read the JM it says the alt. fan was black on all 64's , is your car a SHP engine ? the 63 alt. fan and pulley where Zinc.

Here are some picture of my alternator on my 1964 Corvette. It has been through all levels of flight judging as recent as the 2014 NCRS National Convention with no deductions.

That is a much later built alternator than what Tom has, "M" vs. "D".

1100668 used with a base or 300 hp engine. Car was built Jan. 18th.
