66 dash wiring

One of the cluster capacitors has a light blue wire with a plastic insulated connector and a small nail in it .

Where does that attach to ?

It attaches to one of the 2 wires going to the park brake warning light on the cluster. The wire comes from the park brake switch. On a 65 its a tan wire.

Below a 1967 Cluster but 1966 similar. Interestingly, I just thought of something.

The Park Brake warning lamp on 1963 to 1966 used a Flasher Bulb. This is why the Capacitor was used at that location to suppress Radio noise with the bulb flashing on and off. However, 1967 did not use a Flasher Bulb with the introduction of the Brake Pressure Differential Switch, but the Capacitor was still used that year with U69. The 1967 Capacitor is essentially useless for the Park Brake Lamp.

In retrospect, for 1963 to 1967, it may have been wise to also use a Capacitor on the HEADLIGHTS Telltale lamp as a Flasher bulb was used there.
