1961 trunk board stain - too dark?

Previously after seeing posts with other trunk boards this is where I ended. But the TIM&JG uses the work "sparingly". Do I need to reduce the coverage/color? Labels OK? Note: I looking for every point I don't lose

Color OK. There should be a fair amount of glue around the edges of the labels. Glue was applied to the board, not on the label.

On a reread I see "sloppy and excessive". Will get that done with yellow glue that I have.

Note that the current commonly available yellow glue (aka gorilla snot) is way too yellow compared to original.
It was likely a clear that aged to a golden yellow color, and I suspect similar to what was used for the door weatherstrip.
So, if judges see a lot of bright yellow you might not do any better than leaving it as-is.

        Just my thoughts.

I think the best thing might be to just leave it alone. I do have some clear glue but I'm not sure over time how much transfer I might get to the the trunk mat in the heat and humidity of SW FL.

Now if I can just find correct rivets for the generator tag
