    1972 Coil Condenser. Quick Question

    Folks:

Finishing up up last details on total restore.

Quick question. I can only find generic conflicting information online and nothing in the AIM or my 1972 GM overhaul or service manuals.

Does the coil condenser on on the 1972 350 engine connect to the positive or negative terminal on the coil?

    Thanks
    Roger

Re: 1972 Coil Condenser. Quick Question

The condenser mounted on the coil is for radio noise suppression. It connects to the positive primary terminal on the coil.

The condenser inside the distributor helps manage the discharge of the coil. It connects to the negative primary, via the contact points. Don't add any additional condensers to this circuit.
