1970 jack tray

I've searched the forum for jack tray restoration and the only name I keep coming up with is John Waluk.
Unfortunately when I called I discovered he had passed away 3 years ago.

Does anyone know who else has them and/or restores them?
I need one for a January built 70.

Rick, years ago I restored my own jack tray (72), was not really hard to do , a couple of areas I just used some fiberglass mat on the internals of the box and then I brought a felt liner kit which is very easy to do, and when finished I was pleased with out come, The only thing if the outer surfaces are weathered you won't change that look.

Rick, I did my own ('72) several years ago. It passed national level flight judging without deducts.

During the project, I recorded the process, step by step. I then wrote an article for my then chapter magazine, then it was published in the NCRS Restorer. IIRC, it was in 2009. You might find the article if you search through past issues. If not, private message me and I'll see what I can do to help.

You can find Don's storage tray restoration article on page 32 of the Summer 2009 Corvette Restorer... I used the majority of his process to restore the jack tray on my '73. It is not too difficult if you follow his steps, BUT you may need to improvise your technique depending on the condition of the tray before restoration. The materials aren't expensive and are available on line. It's a fun project.. Here are the before and after photos of my tray restoration. It passed Judging also.....
