103328 Lock Washer OD

The lock washers that were used to mount my front calipers have an OD of approximately 0.84".

The lock washer that was used to hold the cushions at the rear of the differential has an OD of approximately 0.80".

These are both supposed to be 103328 washers, and maybe one or both have been changed by previous owners.

I have several 103328 washers that are broken. The best match I have found is a Fabory 22UH45 with an OD of 0.784". It is described as having a plain finish, but it is very black. I wire wheel them and end up with a finish that looks very similar to my original lock washers.

What is the correct diameter of an original 103328 lock washer?

I have already read that post and many others. I am pretty sure the finish is natural with a dark gray steel color. I am more concerned with the OD.

Just like GM 103328, I think the Fabory 22UH45 lock washer is dark from the heat treatment to get it up to Rockwell hardness C38 to C46. That is the same hardness spec as for the GM washer. The Fabory OD of 0.784 is close to what I think is the GM spec of 0.770 for 103328.

AMK Products carries all kinds of fasteners, washers etc. According to their catalog they carry a lock washer that is a match to a GM 103328. The AMK part # for this washer is B-13058' measurements AMK gives are: .45" x .77" X .14". This washer appears on page 187 of the catalog, first washer on the second row.

I have never used or purchased AMK products but I know a number of people that have purchased their stuff and they say it is "correct". You be the judge. Hope this helps.

Alan, that chart is showing a 0.75" ID and 1.1964" ID. Sorry, but there is something wrong with that chart. That is a 3/4" washer instead of a 7/16" washer.

Ed, the AMK washer only has an OD of 0.77" which is smaller than the Fabroy washer which is 0.784" OD and smaller than both of my original washers, so I think the Fabroy washer is closer to matching the originals of 0.80" to 0.84" OD.

I agree that that chart has totally incorrect dimensions for lock washer 103328.

#103328 is a 7/16 plain lock washer it's outside dimension is .787 there is a min & max. thickness spec. of .143/.133 it's inside dimension is .459 max. vs .446 min. there are further dimensions if you need. The chart does appear to be incorrect!

About what AMK is selling - David, your specs are out to 3 places, specs on AMKs website are to 2 places.

The above chart is from a GM "Standards Parts Cat 89" dated Apr 1983. The 103328 LW was replaced with the 120383 according to GM Parts History in 1990. All references are to published GM documents, after that use your best judgement - just trying to get information out.
