74 BB FE-7 (Gymkhana Suspension) Original Shock Question

Hi All -

I have most of the original components of the Gymkhana Suspension on my car excepts shocks which have been replaced. Could someone tell me on the 74 Big Block FE-7 option

Were Gymkhana shocks standard or heavy duty?

Also, can someone provide me with front and rear part numbers for these shocks???

My 74 assembly manual lists only a standard shock part number for the fronts and two part numbers for the rears (one for standard and one part number for the off road ZO7 suspension).

Front shocks were GM# 4984577 while rears were GM# 4984578. The fronts were used from 1974-1980 while rears were used 1974-1977. These FE7 shocks were used until the rears were beefed up in 1978. I came across a pair a few years ago at Bloomington Gold, dated coded to 1978. They came off a Pace Car.

There were only 2 different suspension options for 1974---standard and FE-7. The FE-7 suspension was included as part of the Z-07 "off-road" package.
