Just would like to confirm the correct wiring to ignition coil for 66 L72 with Oct 65 build date as I understand there was a change from 65 model year. I believe the correct wiring connection is white wire to positive terminal on Coil and black wire to negative terminal? Thanks

Re: Wiring for Ignition Coil, Early 66
John, Yes.
1964-1965 had the Black Ground spliced to the White resistor wire to Coil-, and the Black pulse feed from the AMP directly to the Coil+.
1966 to 1971 reversed the wires. This changed the White resistor wire from the AMP pulse feed to Coil+. Black is Ground to Coil-.
A way to verify you definitely have the 1966-1971 K66 TI Harness is to check for continuity, using a ohmmeter, from the center of the harness 3 terminal plug at the AMP to the White wire end. This is the resistor wire so you should read apx .6 ohms. Then check the Black Ground wire at the AMP mount bolt to the Black wire at the end of the TI harness, to Coil-. It should read 0 ohms. When taking these readings the wires should not be connected to the Coil nor the AMP. TI Wiring Diagrams attached below.

Look at 66 AIM UPC K66 sheet A3. It shows the white wire to the positive and the black to the negative coil terminals.Don Harris
