I have the distributor off my '69 base model (300 HP, 350 CID), and since I have no idea how old the distributor rotor and points are (they look pretty rough), I am going to replace them.
I read some old threads on here regarding rotors, and I am thoroughly confused. Standard tip... extended tip... I am not sure which to get.
Was the original a Delco D-409? If so, should I try to find a NOS one? Or would a D-409R be better? Or something else entirely?
I have a stock Delco "Patent Pending R" distributor cap.
Any help or recommendations for a good rotor would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Paul
