'69 water pump stud-- painted or not?

    Hi all,

I know that the water pump was installed before the engine was painted. That being the case, I assume the fasteners holding it to the engine block should be painted as well.

The only one I am wondering about, though, is the stud that resides in the upper driver's side hole. (On my '69 base model, this stud is used to hold the alternator adjuster bracket.)

Should this stud be painted orange like the three bolts, or was a bolt initially used in this hole (before painting) and later replaced with the stud (after painting)? And if it is the latter, what is the correct finish on the stud?

    Thanks in advance,
    Paul

The stud was installed at St. Louis and was un-painted. It was zinc plated.

Thanks again, Joe! Do you happen to know the part number for this stud? I would like to find a nicely-plated NOS or reproduction one if possible, but I am only seeing studs for big blocks available...

Awesome... thanks again, Joe! Using that number, I found a nice reproduction.
