Where does this piece of spark plug shielding go on my '69?

    Hi all,

Can anyone tell me where this piece goes on my '69 base model?

I am told it installs on the "passenger side rear" and holds the spark plug wires on that side. I cannot find it in the '69 assembly manual, though. If anyone can point me to the right page or otherwise describe how this installs, I would greatly appreciate it!

    Thanks in advance,
    Paul

This support, GM #3864498, installs on the right rear of the engine on the top of the bellhousing flange (on the ENGINE BLOCK, not the bellhousing, itself). A single 1/4"-20 hex head screw retains it. There is a tapping on the top of the bellhousing flange for the screw and there is a shallow hole into which the tab on the end of the support fits. In this manner the single screw-retained support is prevented from rotating. You will find a depiction of this on UPC 6, sheet B6 of the 1969 AIM.
