    70 BB Power Steering Pump

The judging manual describes different power steering pumps for SB's and BB's. All of the pumps I am finding from Corvette vendors and rebuilders look like the SB description. I called Lone Star Caliper, and they sell only one style pump for 70 regardless of whether SB or BB. Where can I find the BB power steering pump?

There was no difference in power steering pumps for any given year between small blocks and big blocks.

Original SB has a belt guard bolted to the pump.
Original BB didn't use the belt guard.

Many small blocks didn't actually get the belt guard. In any event, the belt guard is a separate part installed at the assembly plant and not part of the power steering pump assembly.

I said the belt guard was bolted on.
I thought it would be self explanatory that one could remove it for a BB application.

Yes. However, some might interpret it as meaning that the small block pump assembly was supplied with the bolted-on belt guard and the big block pump assembly was not supplied with a belt guard. Thus, in that case, the small block pump assemblies and big block pump assemblies would have been different by virtue of the belt guard.
