vacuum hose connectors judging question

I am working on the front headlights, vac hoses, wiring etc. I am using a Doc Rebuild vac hose kit that includes new plastic (black) T connectors that seem to have a much better fit on the new vac hoses. My original T connectors (white) seem to be fine with no apparent cracks. Knowing that vac leaks can be rather maddening to track down I am inclined to use the new black connectors. Same with headlight squirter hoses. Are the connectors judged for appearance and originality? The tech/judging guide including the new one are silent on this issue from what I can tell.

Rich, I would think that the judges would be more aware of the hoses than the fittings, sometimes the repro hoses colored strips differ in appearance from the factory. in any event it would be a Date and configuration if judge deems. I myself save the original hoses and connectors, If you encounter a poor fit, You can away slice a piece from the end on hose and slip on to fitting. a little soap and water will clean the original hoses.
