    AIR/Smog diverter valve markings

This question is in reference to the 29199 diverter valve. It's been established in prior discussions that this valve came out in 1969 and It acts as the diverter valve and relief valve. These valves are seen with the large GL stamp and the 3/4" GL paper sticker. According to the '70-'72 Tech manual "Valves with an ink stamp on them are from an earlier application and are incorrect", But since these valves only came out in 1969, couldn't/wouldn't early 1970 smog equipped cars have a GL stamped valve? My interest is with my 1970 car #1889 with Nov and Dec '69 parts. Wouldn't my stamped valve be correct or should I change it to one with a sticker?

I can give you a "close, but no cigar" reference point.

My 1970 #2161 has the GL sticker on the diverter valve, or at least it did last time I looked. I am absolutely sure it was delivered to me that way.

If you call Bill Hodel, he can give you insight, I'm sure.

You can always put a GL sticker on it just for judging days.

Yes, that is what I will do. It's probably the easiest/smartest answer.
