65 convertible top frame

I have the newest version of the JG but it is quite vague and was wondering if there's any more input since this thread was started or the JG printed? My May 65 car has the round #1 bow and still has the original canvas. I certainly wouldn't call a car built 2 months prior to the end of production "early". I found on another "forum" someone posted that the round bows were made of aluminum. Mine is not. Please discuss.

round bows i've encountered were not aluminum, but rather cold rolled steel. mike

Jim, my March 15th car has a round steel bow.

Thanks Mike & John. The person that posted about the aluminum round bows was obviously mistaken. I'm thinking the change from round to flattened #1 bows should be considered a "very late" model change, not an early one.
