the 4 clutch head screws that secure the block off plate to the firewall have an unpainted silver cad finish(my opinion, no absolute proof). BTW, the head of the clutch head faces the radiator and the nuts face the passengers seat. install all this before installing the firewall cardboard insulation. mike

Mike i have a original HEATER delete plate with the hardware . They are cadmium plated . Thanks for you help . So the hardware would not be covered at blackout.

they may have been cad plated but i've never seen one that wasn't blacked out prior to attachment to the firewall. have several photos of air boxes that were taken prior to resto and none of the block off plates were silver cad.the plates were blacken by the supplier as i see it. however, their fasteners were silver cad. see no land's vol 1 p 140. can't tell if its a GM photo or one noldand took of a restored heater delete car. mike
