Wipers that don't hit the hood on a C4 ?

Tried a few replacement wiper blade assemblies on my 92 and the driver's side all hit the hood when coming out or parking. Anyone know of some that will work on original arms ?

Clearance is tight between the rear of the hood and the wiper arms. I can imagine a replacement component may not quite fit.

What was replaced? The arm? Blade holder? Or just a blade refill? A refill should not make much difference. But if the arm or blade holder was replaced, you might try going back to the original with a new refill.

Did you always have this problem? Maybe the hood isn't adjusted properly?

A quick story: Years ago I took my '90 ZR-1 to the dealer for warranty work (beautiful car with less than 6k miles at the time). As soon as I pulled up and stopped, I watched the valet insert a window ticket by pulling up the driver's wiper... only to hit the rear of the hood with the wiper arm and scratch the paint. That was the paint's first defect... I was pissed.

Taking your car to a mechanic is like going to the hospital. The chance of more harm being done is significant.

After running my 90 thru the NCRS judging system and preparing for winter, I removed my original wiper arm and blade with ACDelco # 8-120, 20 inches long. Works like a dream and really cleans the windshield 10 times better than the 27 year old blades. Purchased at my local Chevy dealer.

Thanks, they look like they will fit. Got a pair coming from Amazon so easy if they don't.
