Emergency Towing - Do I Need to Carry Tow Straps?

As I drive my Corvette more often and further afield, I figure I need to plan for an eventual break down and towing.
What advice do members have for emergency towing service? I assume a flatbed tow truck is a must. Do I need to carry my own tow straps? Where should operator attach straps to a C3?

F.W.I.W...I subscribe to a road service...wouldn't have anything but a flatbed...they will have all the necessary tie downs. My mechanic is about 40 miles away...if I feel uncomfortable about driving there, I just pay for the extra 20 miles. My Dad always said "Insurance is the only thing you can't buy when you need it." If your tow truck driver does not have the correct straps and no knowledge of how to strap down your car they do not deserve your business

The solution is join AAA, I have had my old Corvettes towed several times, always great, quick service, flat bed trucks, even where I live, and buy the Premier membership, it gets you up to 100 miles of tow per occurrence included with the membership at no additional charge.
