Choke Cover Spring

Can the spring on the choke cover on my 1965 380 FI unit be replaced? My choke quite working and when I took off the cover found that the spring is broken. The spring looks like it might be staked to the post. I looked in John DeGregory's catalog from 2011, and he lists a cover with spring, but not just the spring. Looking for any suggestions for replacement.

Chuck, use your spring as a sample and look up NOS Rochester carb choke covers on Ebay, usually about $20. Your old spring is set into a slot which might be peened to keep the spring. Be VERY careful when removing the spring as to not break the slotted shaft or you'll be buying a new cover. Hacksaw blade, Dremel disks to loosen the slot up a bit.

Thanks for the suggestion Dan. I see a couple of Rochester carb covers on ebay, one of which has a spring that looks the same as mine, but it's hard to judge the dimension. Is it possible that carbs and FI units used the same size cover and spring? The choke cover on my FI says Fuel Injection, while the ones I see on ebay say Carburetor, so I was concerned that the spring size and heat sensing properties might be different.

Chuck, I got two springs mounted on black plastic covers, but the springs were spot on. Look at the orientation of the center bend and count number of coils etc. Don't buy one of the repro springs, not close. Good hunting.
