    Tire Originality Deductions

What would the deduction be for a Firestone Deluxe Champion Reproduction 6.70 X 15 Bias Ply with DOT reference vs. a Firestone or other OEM brand 205/75R15 tire radial?
    Thank you,
    Gene

    Gene-
If the Firestone tire only differs from original due to the "DOT", the standard deduction is 10%. If the radial tire is OEM brand, the standard deduction is 60%. If the radial is not an OEM brand, then 75% would be deducted. This information is in the Judging Reference Manual, Section 4, standard deduction guidelines.

OK, so a non DOT OEM Bias Ply reproduction tire has a deduction for 10%?
      Great event in Redmond
      Thanks,

        Gene,

Are you going to drive your car to the judging meets? If so, depending on how many miles you drive, the mileage points you would receive by driving your car to the meet may offset the deduction for the tires. I put the correct size radials on my '64 and '65 because I drive my cars to any NCRS event I attend. If the car is going to be a trailer queen only then buy the bias ply tires. You won't like the bias ply tires if you drive any distance other than around town.

        Regards,

        James

If you mount a non DOT OEM Bias Ply and it's appears original there is no deduction. Or did you you intend to say "a DOT OEM Bias Ply..."?

            Thanks for the catch, Harry.
I meant to say a DOT OEM Bias Ply
